Fox Valley chorus earns national recognition

APPLETON - A Fox Valley chorus has earned recognition in a national competition.
Lawrence University says its Bel Canto Girl Choir earned second place in the 2012 American Prize for choral performance. The Bel Canto choir is the high school component of the Academy of Music’s 330-member Girl Choir.
Conducted by the Connecticut-based Hat City Music Theater, Inc., the American Prize supports national competitions for the best recorded performances of music by ensembles and individuals each year in the United States at the professional, college/university, church, community and secondary school levels.
