GRAND CHUTE - People laced up their sneakers for a good cause in Grand Chute Saturday.
They took part in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk at Fox Valley Technical College.
There was a choice between a mile-and-a-half or a three mile route.
It's all to raise money and awareness for heart disease and stroke.
"We also want to encourage prevention. Eighty percent of heart disease is preventable. If people make simple lifestyle choices, so that's what we're trying to encourage people to do, exercise, eat a proper diet, quit smoking, and a lot of heart disease and stroke can be prevented that way," said Jay Matz with the American Heart Association.
FOX 11's Rachel Manek emceed the event, and took part in the walk.
The Green Bay Heart Walk is next Saturday.
It begins at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.
Registration starts at 8:00 a.m., and the walk kicks off at 9.
