GREENVILLE - An airplane maker is adding jobs in Outagamie County.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation announced Thursday the addition of 100 positions at its facility at the Outagamie County Regional Airport.

Gulfstream officials say they will be filling those positions in the next 90 days.

“It's a wide range of jobs ranging from purchasing to engineering and everything in between,” said Heidi Fedak, a Gulfstream spokesperson.

The jobs are to help build a new line of planes, including the recently certified G650.

“They are business tools that help people get where they need to go faster than they can get there on a commercial airlines and they also can work the whole time they are on the aircraft,” said Fedak.

“Gulfstream has been an anchor employer at our airport for many years now,” said Tom Nelson, the Outagamie County Executive.

Gulfstream has been adding jobs across the country. Company officials say the importance of the Greenville facility is why they chose it for expansion.

“It's both a service center, as well as a completions facility and by completions its where we do the outfitting of the interior of the aircraft as well as the painting of the exterior of the aircraft,” said Fedak.

Gulfstream currently employs about 725 people at this facility, including 425 technicians.

“The average payroll check of Gulfstream, the annual W2s is about $60,000, so these are primary jobs that are not just going to be good for those individuals and their families, but also for businesses and the region,” said Nelson.

Gulfstream officials say they plan to first look locally to fill the positions. If they can't do that, they say they'll then start to recruit out of the area.
