KIMBERLY - Tens of thousands of new books will soon show up in communities around the Fox Valley.
First Book-Fox Valley provides new texts to children from low-income families.
The group won a national competition and Thursday received its prize: 50,000 books.
Volunteers sorted the books which will next be distributed to more than 300 schools and programs.
Organizers say books are appropriate for children of all ages.
“We have a lot of fiction, fantasy, science fiction, picture books. So there really, there's a huge range of books here,” said Lou Hull, First Book-Fox Valley chair.
In its ninth year, First Book-Fox Valley serves nearly 1,000 students in Appleton and Menasha.
