KAUKAUNA - A section of highway in Kaukauna is back open after a train leaked diesel fuel. It happened around 7:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Draper and Maria Streets.
Fire officials say hundreds of gallons of diesel leaked out of the bottom of a train engine tank. The Appleton HAZMAT team, along with Outagamie County Emergency Management and the DNR, were called in to help with cleanup.
Highway 96 was closed in both directions for several hours but reopened after 1 a.m. Saturday.
