APPLETON - Forbes.com has ranked Appleton’s Lawrence University the best college in Wisconsin.
The magazine released its annual “America’s Best Colleges” list this week. Lawrence was ranked the 85th best college in the country.
Twelve other Wisconsin colleges made the annual ranking list, they are: St. Norbert College (113), University of Wisconsin-Madison (147), Marquette University (181), Beloit College (208), Wisconsin Lutheran College (216), Ripon College (217), Carthage College (463), Edgewood College (471), Carroll University (491), Cardinal Stritch University (522), Milwaukee School of Engineering (571), and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (615).
The top ten schools were: Princeton University, Williams College, Stanford University, University of Chicago, Yale University, Harvard University, United States Military Academy, Columbia University in the City of New York, Pomona College, and Swarthmore College.
The rankings are based on post graduate success, student satisfaction and retention rate, student debt, four-year graduation rates and competitive awards.
