APPLETON - Lawrence University's president is getting ready to say goodbye after nine years on the campus.
Jill Beck sat down and spoke with members of the media Monday.
She reflected on some of her career accomplishments.
Beck is the first female president in the history of Lawrence.
She presided over several expansion projects including construction of the Warch Campus Center.
Beck says her focus will continue to be expanding the school.
“The president needs to create an environment in within which students flourish - that is my role and I hope I have served the students well,” said Beck.
Beck will retire in June of next year. The search for a new president is underway.
