APPLETON - Lawrence University hosted a special guest who had a personal connection to Martin Luther King Junior.
Dorothy Cotton was the keynote speaker for the school's 21st annual Martin Luther King community celebration.
At the event Monday evening, she reflected on what it was like to be actively involved in the movement.
"Well I was around him everyday. What do I remember most about him? Well I remember everything about him... Everyday... I remember, you know I worked with him everyday, I was the educational director," to my talk?" said Cotton.
She was the only female member of King's executive staff.
