GREENLEAF - A man is safe on shore after he drove his vehicle into the Fox River early Saturday morning.
This happened in Greenleaf around 1 a.m. at the intersection of County Road ZZ and Wrightstown Road.
The Greenleaf Fire Department says the man fell asleep at the wheel and drove into the water. He ended up about 25 feet from shore in about 7.5 feet of water.
Officials say he was able to get out and stand on the roof of his vehicle. He was stuck there for about 3 hours, yelling at passing cars for help.
The Greenleaf Fire Department rescued the man by boat and say he was not seriously injured.
