APPLETON - An event to teach kids about the importance of a healthy smile was held in Appleton Sunday.
"Miles of Smiles" day took place this afternoon at The Building for Kids Children's Museum.
Members of the dental community hosted hands-on demonstrations and activities for the children.
The kids learned about everything from the effects of sugar, to wearing braces.
The event is in celebration of Children's Dental Health Month.
Organizers say it's all about the smiles.
"It really is our goal to build the imagination, creativity and confidence of each child who walks through the door. But also, to provide these engaging and fun, interactive programs for them as well," said program manager Kristi Helmkamp.
Children also met with the Tooth Fairy at the event.
There were even activities for kids to make wings and Tooth Fairy wands of their own.
