Old ballroom offers chance to dance

HILBERT - Whether it's dancing at a wedding or just dancing for fun, a local studio offers a place to work on your moves.

The dance floor at the Crystal Ballroom in Hilbert was filled with couples Sunday.

They brushed up on popular ballroom dances, such as the waltz and the tango.

People come from all over the Fox Cities to use the ballroom, which was built in 1928.

The owner said the it offers a rare and authentic experience.

"It's a ballroom in the true sense of the word, and they don't make these anymore. So, the nostalgia brings them out too and the hardwood floors for dancing. You can't beat it," said owner Lisa Lauer.

The Crystal Ballroom is open to the public and all ages are welcome.

It hosts a dance every Friday from 8:00-11:00 p.m.
