OSHKOSH - Parking at Oshkosh City Hall is going to be limited for the next few months as a construction project takes place.
City leaders say an underground storm water storage tank is being built. The city hopes the tank will help reduce flooding in the Division Street watershed, which includes areas from the Fox River to north of New York Avenue, between Main and Jackson streets.
After the storm water storage tank is built, the parking lot for City Hall and the police department will be rebuilt. Parking for the police department will be maintained and there will be a limited number of parking stalls near the City Hall entrance for visitors.
The construction is also expected to cause some public meetings to be moved from City Hall. The city encourages citizens to keep tabs on meeting locations at its website, www.ci.oshkosh.wi.us .
Construction is expected to begin in March and finish in November. The project is estimated to cost $3.9 million.
