Person in custody in town of Clayton

TOWN OF CLAYTON - A person is in custody after an incident in Winnebago County.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 3500 block of W. Shady Ln. early Thursday afternoon for an armed subject.

Nearby roads were blocked off while law enforcement handled the situation.

School officials also locked down Clayton Elementary School due to the close proximity to the incident.

Sheriff’s officials say there was no immediate threat to the school.
