NEENAH - Three teens have been fined $300 each for detonating homemade explosives in Neenah.
Police were notified by residents after the devices commonly called “The Works Bombs” had been set off.
Police say these devices are made using common household products and when mixed will create a hazardous chemical and eventually an explosion.
Investigators gave information to local retailers, asking them to report any suspicious purchases used to make the devices.
Police say one retailer in particular was instrumental in helping identify the two 17-year-olds and one 18-year-old.
Police say luckily no one was hurt and no property was damaged.
