FOX CITIES - With the Republican presidential candidates coming to Northeast Wisconsin, preparations are in full swing.
From Appleton to Ashwaubenon, people are getting ready to welcome the campaigns.
At Lawrence University in Appleton, last-minute security issues are being worked out, and workers are setting the stage for a visit from presidential hopeful Mitt Romney.
"Making sure that the hall is ready. We've had students from the stage crew working on getting things ready inside the auditorium," said Jake Woodford, president of Lawrence University Community Council.
Some of Lawrence's students say they are eager to take part in the political process.
"I think bringing a person of Romney's caliber in here, really just excites the campus. I think it's something a lot of people hope for. And here we are with it happening tomorrow," said Joshua Graber, Lawrence University Republicans.
"So while the Lawrence College Democrats do support Obama, we are still going to attend the event and listen to the other side of the story, and find out why Romney is running for president, and what he's going to offer as well," said Rachel Wittkopp, Lawrence College Democrats.
Newt Gingrich is scheduled to speak at UW-Oshkosh Friday morning and then it's off to Ashwaubenon for a rally at Kroll's West Restaurant.
"We're gonna do a thing like a tailgate party. He's going to be speaking out there. We're gonna be selling beer and brats," said Cheryl Dorner, manager Kroll's West Restaurant.
Cheryl Dorner says security from the Gingrich campaign has been here all week.
"Just sweeping the place what path he's gonna take in the hallway, and whatever," said Dorner.
It's a campaign sweep in a race that has voters taking note.
