OSHKOSH - The little bit of rain Oshkosh received Tuesday didn't help the dry conditions as officials are still considering banning camp fires during EAA AirVenture 2012.
Media and public relations director Dick Knapinski says AirVenture staff is working closely with the Oshkosh Fire Department to determine if a ban on camp fires is warranted. Knapinski says the little bit of rain that fell on the grounds Tuesday afternoon and evening helped, but not much.
Campers say the rain wasn't bad, but strong winds during the storm caused some minimal damage to tents and trailers.
Knapinski says preparations are nearly complete for the event that begins on Monday. He says not having to dodge storms in the weeks leading up to AirVenture 2012 has helped them stay on schedule.
