APPLETON - One of the Americans allegedly killed by Somali pirates had ties to Northeast Wisconsin.
Scott Adam was a 1964 graduate of Lawrence University in Appleton. A native of Prospect Heights, Ill., Adam received a bachelor's degree in theatre-drama, school officials said.
Adam, along with his wife Jean, who was also killed in the attack, lived in Marina del Rey, Calif. Also killed were Phyllis Macay and Bob Riggle of Seattle.
The Adams ran a Bible ministry and have been distributing Bibles to schools and churches in remote villages in areas including the Fiji Islands, Alaska, New Zealand, Central America and French Polynesia. They were sailing off the coast of East Africa when their yacht was hijacked Friday.
