CHILTON - The Calumet County Sheriff's Department is offering a $3,000 reward for information in a stabbing case.
A 73-year-old man was stabbed in a wooded area at Darboy Community Park last Thursday morning.
Officers released a sketch Tuesday of what the suspect may look like.
The suspect is a white man in his late teens or early twenties with dark hair. He has a medium build and is about 5’5” tall.
Authorities say the suspect told the victim he'd lost his cell phone.
Officials say the suspect stabbed the man once in the back after he walked into the woods to look for it.
The suspect then ran away.
Officials say this type of random violent crime generally doesn't happen in that area.
“It's usually the run of the mill stuff you find in parks. Graffiti, there have been a couple battery complaints but it's been mostly small stuff. I can't think of anything major that's been recorded there,” said Sgt. Mark Wiegert, Calumet County Sheriff’s Department.
Witnesses say the suspect may have been driving an older model faded blue minivan.
If you have any more information, you're asked to call the sheriff's department at (920) 849-2335 or Crimestoppers at (877) 765-8327.
