FOND DU LAC - Figure skaters spent the day gliding across the ice in Fond du Lac Saturday.
It was for the "Foot of the Lake" synchronized skating competition.
The event was held at the Blue Line Family Ice Center.
Teams skated to music and showed off their fancy footwork to impress the judges.
Some teams traveled from as far away as North Dakota to compete!
Event officials say the sport is gaining momentum across the country.
"This event, the synchronized skating, has picked up some popularity over the years. In fact, it's being considered for an Olympic event," said event chair Stephanie Roth.
About 800 skaters took part in the event.
The competition is in its 16th year.
