GRAND CHUTE - People in the Fox Valley gathered to honor and say thank you to veterans, both past and present, on Veterans Day.
Veterans, families and community members met at Appleton's American Legion Post Number 38.
It was all part of a special Veterans Day ceremony.
It included bag pipes, a rifle salute, the playing of Taps and more.
One veteran said he feels honored to be recognized, and is proud of the troops serving overseas.
"As a veteran, I'm very proud of them, these people are being called back numerous times, the Reserve and Guards are really doing a great job leaving their families some three, four, maybe five times and doing it with pride and honor," said Army veteran Patrick Bourassa.
In years past, the ceremony has been held at the Outagamie County Courthouse.
It was moved this year because of construction and remodeling.
