MENASHA - Habitat for Humanity gave back to a Menasha veteran this weekend with some home repairs.

Volunteers with Habitat and Home Depot Foundation have paired up to make veterans homes safer and more comfortable. The program is similar to new homes being built with Habitat families.

Repairs were made on Navy veteran John Josephs' home Saturday. Josephs will have to repay the zero interest loan needed for the repairs.

Renovations included new siding and roofing, replacing windows and more.

"This is a great opportunity for people that can't afford a contractor to do this type of activity, to be able to have it done, skilled stuff really, via our volunteers here at Habitat," said Craig LeBeau with Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity.

"They really go to bat for you, it's not half measured, they do everything, they come and they help you right out and they fix it. They go, the guys come in, they had people who did the windows and the siding, and I know very little about doing anything like that," said Josephs.

Josephs says he is very grateful for the work done by the volunteers.
