GREEN BAY - Green Bay police are still trying to figure out just what happened during an incident on the city's west side Sunday night.
Police say they were called to Oak Street near Western Avenue around 6 p.m. Reports indicated a car hit a 19-year-old man who was walking in the street. Police said the driver got out and beat the man with a baseball bat before taking off.
But as the investigation continued, police say the story fell apart. Capt. Todd Thomas tells FOX 11 a bat may not have been used.
A 20-year-old man was cited for battery and disorderly conduct. The victim, who police say knew the attacker, was treated and released from a local hospital.
Police say the victim suffered minor injuries.
