GREEN BAY - A Green Bay alderman has changed his vote for the city’s new police chief.

Two weeks ago, the city council voted 9 to 3 to allow Tom Molitor to become police chief while living 20 minutes north of Green Bay, in Abrams.

A city ordinance requires city council approval for a department head to live outside city limits.

On Monday night, the city council voted to allow Alderman David Boyce to change his vote. It changed the vote to an 8 to 4 margin.

Boyce told FOX 11 he wanted his vote on record against the decision to allow a department head to live outside city limits. Boyce refused an on camera interview.
