DE PERE - Some area nursing home residents spent their Sunday dancing the afternoon away.
Students and members of West De Pere High School's student council put on a special dance for senior citizens.
Organizers said the event is a way to give back to the community and show appreciation for the elderly. They also say it's a great way to get active!
From music and food, to refreshments and a DJ, there was fun for everyone.
Those involved said seeing the smiles on the residents' faces made it all worthwhile.
"They are having so much fun, they all really enjoyed it, and they're just having a good time. They're excited," said West De Pere High School sophomore Samantha Beaumier.
Organizers said they hope to make this an annual event.
They added they would like to invite more nursing home residents next year.
