GREEN BAY - A Green Bay man has been found competent to stand trial for allegedly leading Brown County authorities on a high-speed chase.
David Baranczyk, 64, waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday. He pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.
Baranczyk faces four charges for the chase in January which reached speeds higher than 100 miles an hour. It ended on Highway 41 after Baranczyk allegedly hit several vehicles.
According to a criminal complaint, Baranczyk said his doctor recently took him off medication for bipolar disorder.
Baranczyk's trial is scheduled for July 9.
