GREEN BAY - The Bay Area Humane Society has received a donation from the trust of a Green Bay couple who died in 1990.
Clyde Truttman presented the $342,627 check to the humane society Thursday. Truttman presented the check on behalf of Norma and Angus Beaton, who lived down the street from Truttman when he was growing up. Angus Beaton was a former district manager at Wisconsin Public Service.
The Beatons died nine weeks apart in 1990. When he died, Angus Beaton had a clause in his will ensuring money for the care of his wife. After the clause expired, Truttman was able to distribute money from the trust to local charities.
