GREEN BAY - Since Sunday, Jennifer Bukouricz has been making gingerbread houses at her Broadway business, Monzu Custom Cakes and Bakery.
“Each one of them has their own personality,” said Bukouricz.
Spending three to four hours on each one, Bukouricz has made 26 houses, each one looking like a business in Green Bay’s Broadway District.
“We're trying to make them as replicated as close to the building as possible, just a little bit simplified because it's only gingerbread,” said Bukouricz.
Bukouricz hand delivered her final products, just in time for the street's annual Lighting Ceremony.
“It's even better than I thought it'd be, but I got a vibe from her that she was going to whip up a pretty cool house,” said Tom Smith, the manager at The Exclusive Company.
Bukouricz says Titletown Brewing Company was the hardest to recreate.
“Just because of the clock tower,” said Bukouricz. “That one was pretty tough.”
All the hard work paid off as Broadway filled for its holiday festivities.
“I think they are fantastic,” said Ron Olson of Green Bay. “I think it's a great idea.”
“It's a very nice addition to the lighting ceremony that we have down here,” said Casey Guilfoile of Sobieski.
If you weren't able to get to Broadway for its Lighting Ceremony, the gingerbread houses will be on display through the end of the year.
You can also pick up your own gingerbread making kit at Monzu Custom Cakes.
