BROWN COUNTY - A Brown County sheriff's deputy has been cleared of possible criminal charges for crashing his car during a high speed chase.

Prosecutors did not find any negligence or recklessness on the part of Deputy Reuben Meisner.

In July, Meisner was chasing a stolen car on Highway 41.

He swerved to avoid spike sticks in the road, and slammed into another car.

In that car, Michelle Lecker of Milwaukee and her fiancee were hurt.

Lecker was critically injured, and has endured months of rehabilitation.

In civil court, she is attempting to recover some of her medical costs.
