GREEN BAY - Some Wisconsin volunteers received special recognition Tuesday for their work in the community.

Ten volunteers from non-profit organizations were honored inside the Lambeau Field Atrium with a Community Quarterback Award.

Each winner received $4,000 for his or her non-profit group.

New this past football season, Humana also provided each winner with tickets to the December 23 game against Tennessee.

Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy says giving back sends an important message.

"I think it's a good message for people to see that by serving others and serving the community it's a great way to give back and to help yourself, to help the community, the organization you work with but also most of those people you talk to is that when you give, you end up getting a lot back as well," said Murphy.

The Packers Community Quarterback Award has been recognizing volunteers since 2000.

This year, eight of the ten recipients were from Northeast Wisconsin.
