Ashwaubenon - The Brown County arena played host to dance teams from throughout the state on Saturday. Private studios to high school all entered teams in the 2012 Green Bay Holiday Dance Classic.
The competition season is underway for dancers of all ages. For high school teams it means tuning up for regional and state competitions in January and February respectively, all in the hopes of winning a state dance title.
Dozens of middle and high school teams were among those taking part in the 7th annual event in Green Bay, put on by PMI Entertainment, operators of the Brown County Arena in Ashwaubenon.
Organizers say the dance classic continues to grow each year.
"This year we have over 200 performances that includes 900 athletes. They range as little as 3 years old and we go all the way through college," said Sara Klemme with PMI Entertainment.
Teams performed various dance styles including pom, kick, jazz and hip-hop. Awards were handed out to the top competitors in the different dance categories and high school divisions.
