DE PERE - Update:

De Pere Police say 46-year-old Denis Bay shot and killed his wife Michelle, 44, and his two children, Andrea, 14, and Daniel, 10, Friday afternoon at the family's home.

Police Chief Derek Beiderwieden said the original 9-11 call came from an adult male shortly before 3 p.m. Officers arrived at 3. Dispatchers say they heard a gunshot on an open phone line at the same time. Officers entered the home a short time later, and found the four bodies.

Beiderwieden said all four died from gunshot wounds from a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun. Officers found 12 shell casings and five projectiles on scene.

Officials say Denis was unemployed. Court records indicated he and Michelle had filed for divorce on October 15, 2010. The divorce is still pending.

Police say they do not know what led to the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing.

FOX 11's Kelly Schlicht will have an update on FOX 11 News at 5 and 9.

Original story:

An out pouring of support came out Friday night in an east-side De Pere neighborhood, just hours after what can be described as a tragic scene.

Four people are dead in what authorities say was a triple murder-suicide.

Authorities tell us children were involved.

However they did not give many other details.

Late Friday afternoon, police say a man called 911and police responded to a home in the 1200 block of South Erie Street near the intersection with O’Keefe road.

A small blue house is where an apparent murder-suicide happened Friday afternoon.

Authorities say they found the bodies of four inside.

"It appears to be a family," De Pere Police Chief Derek Beiderwieden.

Children are among the victims. Officials say it all started around 3 pm, with a phone call.

"The person called and said he had just shot three other people and then was going to kill himself," Beiderwieden explained. "A little while later there was a sound heard, of a weapon being fired and then no more info."

After getting the call, De Pere Police along with State patrol and the Brown County Sheriff's Department blocked off the streets.

At one point, officers surrounded the home with guns drawn.

Eventually, officers got inside the home only to find four people dead.

Neighbors say the tragedy has no doubt shaken the small neighborhood to the core.

"It's a quiet neighborhood, you know, everyone seems like a normal family, living their life, you know, happy, and this happens, it's tragic," said Daniel Angell, who lives across the street from the scene.

"I think it's terrible," said Neighbor Rhonda Nelson.  "There's only, I know that lives there is the mother, the father, and the 2 kids and she just moved back, she moved away then moved back here not too long ago.  I don't know if that's them, I don't know."

And that's something we still don't know.

Officials have not yet released the names of the victims.

And at this point, it's uncertain as to what led to this crime.
