ASHWAUBENON - A long time area sporting goods stores says it is closing its doors.
The owners of Denis Sport Shop released a statement Friday about the decision on Friday. The business has served the area for 100 years.
The statement cites a number of reasons for closing, including several mild winters, the soft economy and on-going road construction on Oneida Street.
Besides the Ashwaubenon store, the company had locations in downtown Green Bay and Appleton. The Appleton store closed in 2001. The downtown Green Bay store closed in 2003.
The company says more details about a closeout sale, and a final day of business will be released in the future.
