GREEN BAY - Coins are a regular donation to the Salvation Army's red kettle campaign.
So imagine the surprise when local volunteers found a gold one!
The Salvation Army of Brown County discovered the coin Thursday night.
It is a one ounce gold American Eagle coin estimated to be worth nearly $1,800.
Salvation Army officials say they found a similar coin last year, and believe it is from the same person.
The mystery donor remains anonymous.
