GREEN BAY - A new event encouraged families to get out of the house and into the winter weather Saturday.
The first-ever Winter Family Festival took place at the Green Bay Botanical Garden.
Those involved took part in a winter scavenger hunt through the gardens.
A couple of teddy bears also joined in on the fun, for the teddy bear sled races.
Organizers said the event helps families enjoy what winter has to offer.
"You know, people tend to go stir crazy in the wintertime, and we just wanted to try and give them an opportunity to have fun on such a nice, snowy day," said Children and Family Educator Kelly Hartman.
The festival also featured indoor fun, including a giant game of Twister and arts and crafts.
