GREEN BAY - People in Brown County are getting a helping hand to put dinner on the table.
Feeding America of Eastern Wisconsin distributed two truckloads of food Wednesday at the East Town Mall in Green Bay.
The food included meat, potatoes, fresh produce, as well as canned fruit and vegetables.
"Every year it is done right around Thanksgiving, and our hope is that by bringing this food right in time for the holidays, we're providing hope to those families in need who have a reason to celebrate the season, that they may otherwise not have," said Kathleen Fugler, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.
Wednesday’s food distribution was in conjunction with National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week.
Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin works with 27 hunger relief programs in Brown County. With their help, the non-profit distributed more than 370,000 pounds of food last year to Brown County residents.
