ASHWAUBENON - Local firefighters helped the Salvation Army spread Christmas cheer in the Green Bay area Monday.
A fire truck filled with toys and other items arrived at Shopko Hall Monday morning.
Firefighters were there to drop off gifts for teens, helping to make sure they will get presents this Christmas.
The Green Bay Firefighters Union raised $1,300 this year.
Each fire station participated, and the firefighters picked out the gifts themselves.
"Yesterday we went shopping and we bought as many toys as we could possibly get," said firefighter Chad Decker.
Inside the hall, volunteers are busy setting up for distribution.
Tables are piled high with board games, stuffed animals and other gifts.
More than 6,000 children will receive toys from the distribution on Tuesday and Wednesday.
