ONEIDA - People in Oneida gave back in a big way this weekend.
For three years, Oneida police officers have made fleece blankets for those in need.
Saturday, folks from all over came together to help make them.
Organizers said it's a way for everyone to come together during the holiday season.
"Officers get to be seen as husbands, as wives, as brothers, as sisters, you know, grandsons. And then also we get to know the community. So it's kind of an exchange. We get to know them the people we're sworn to protect," said Oneida Community Resource Officer Matthew Ninham.
People made more than 100 blankets.
Later this month, they will be handed out to people in need in the community.
