GREEN BAY - Green Bay Police continue to investigate an overnight shooting that left four men wounded.
The shooting happened near the corner of Walnut Street and Ashland Avenue shortly after midnight.
Authorities have yet to make any arrests, but they say the public is not in danger.
Police tape blocked off a portion of Walnut Street for several hours Saturday morning.
"This is extremely rare and unusual," explained Captain Todd Thomas with Green Bay Police. "So we put all our assets on it and will try to resolve and solve it as quickly as we can."
Thomas said two 17-year-olds, a 21-year-old and a 23-year-old were shot.
He told FOX 11 it happened behind an apartment building where he believes they lived.
Thomas said some of the men had multiple gun shot wounds.
"Non life threatening injuries, but they're serious injuries," Thomas said. "We canvassed the neighborhood and interviewed the victims to try to ascertain what happened here. We believe this was not a random act. They were targeted."
"All of a sudden it was about six gunshots went off, and we just kind of sat there for a minute and waited, and then I heard sirens probably about ten minutes later," explained neighbor Angie Wolter.
Wolter says she was shocked to know this happened just next door.
"Especially with children in the area. It's scary, really scary," Wolter said. "You don't even want your kids to go outside and play anymore because you don't know what's going to happen."
Authorities were able to clear the scene around 10 a.m. The investigation is ongoing.
FOX 11 will continue to follow this story and bring you more details as they become available.
