GREEN BAY - The thrills were on the house at Bay Beach Tuesday morning thanks to the Green Bay Preble Optimist Club.
For two hours the not-for-profit organization offered free rides on the Zippin Pippin.
Organizers say this is the group’s final big event this summer.
“Every kids got to ride this thing. This is amazing,” said Preble Optimist Club member Skip Wyss. “This is pretty much the hallmark of Green Bay besides the Packers.”
Wyss says 1,320 people got to take the plunge for free. The Zippin Pippin normally costs $1 to ride.
The Optimists are gearing up for their next big event, Terror on the Fox. The haunted house attraction takes place at The National Railroad Museum in the fall.
