GREEN BAY - Green Bay Catholic Bishop David Ricken joined Twitter Wednesday.

Bishop Ricken sent out his first official tweet.

It mentioned Pope Benedict, Our Lady of Guadalupe and Aaron Rodgers.

Bishop Ricken says social media is a great way to connect with people.

“Everybody’s getting into the social media more and more and we need to bring our connection to the people in ways,” said Bishop Ricken. “With the kind of media that they’re using, we’re going to be doing more and more of this as time goes on.”

Bishop Ricken will sign his name on the tweets he personally writes.
