NEW YORK - Green Bay East High School’s mock trial team took sixth place in a recent international competition.
The team competed in the Empire City Invitational tournament in New York City Friday through Sunday. School leaders said East’s team was one ballot away from advancing to the championship round of the 30-team competition.
In the tournament, teams received points from a “jury.” “Judges” also cast ballots which could overrule jury points.
Individual players could also be given performance scores of one to ten, with anything above a seven considered “outstanding.” East’s teams received 67 scores of eight, 38 of nine and eight scores of ten.
