GREEN BAY - A bitter cold snap continues and now could be a factor in one Green Bay man's death.
Police found the body of a 38-year old Green Bay man outside near his residence Monday morning.
The home is located on the 1700 block of East Shore Circle on the city's northeast side. That's near the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary.
Police say the Green Bay man lived alone. They say he was found in this driveway that leads up to his home.
“There were no signs of physical harm to the person that would immediately tell us the cause of death,” said Lt. Kevin Warych, Green Bay Police Department.
Temperatures in the neighborhood Monday morning struggled to get above zero.
“The weather is a factor in our investigation, but that is yet to be determined,” said Warych.
Police say they found the man's vehicle at a bar on University Avenue.
“Now, we're working with staff of that bar to try to interview people to determine what that man did last night, and try to conclude how he got to his residence,” said Warych.
Neighbors who live nearby did not want to go on camera. They say they saw the dead man without a coat and he was barefoot.
Police wouldn't confirm that information, but they say the investigation continues.
“We're working, kind of backtracking history, what this guy did to determine how he got to his residence, and maybe help us determine how he may have died,” said Warych.
The Brown County medical examiner says his office is trying to determine a timeline leading up to the man's death. Blood tests for the victim have been ordered.
Police are withholding the name of the victim until relatives are notified.
