GREEN BAY - The city of Green Bay plans to hire Tom Molitor as police chief on a full-time basis.
The Police and Fire Commission says it has directed the city to offer Molitor the job provided he can meet employment requirements.
Molitor has been interim police chief since last July, when he came out of retirement to replace Jim Arts. Arts left to become head of security for the Tennessee Titans football team.
Molitor was first hired as a Green Bay police cadet in 1980. He worked his way up to assistant chief and retired in June 2011.
