HOWARD - The Village of Howard received special recognition Monday for being a good place to build a business.

A 77-acre property located on Marley Street was selected as a Wisconsin Certified Site.
It means it is pre-approved for large industrial development.

The property known as Mills Center is one of nine certified sites in the state.

Representatives from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation were on hand Monday. They say the Village of Howard is a great place to build and grow.

"This is a place where individuals that want to site businesses, coming into Wisconsin or relocating in Wisconsin or expanding in Wisconsin can look and say this is a good site, so I think the Village of Howard has an advantage over other communities,” said Reed Hall, interim CEO of WEDC.

The selection program was announced back in February, as part of Governor Scott Walker's "Ready, Set, Build" initiative.
