GREEN BAY - A man whose body was found in a snow bank in Green Bay earlier this week froze to death, investigators say.
Brown County Medical Examiner Al Klimek says Earl Reed, 53, died of hypothermia. An autopsy was done on Reed's body on Thursday. Alcohol was also believed to be a factor in Reed's death, although Klimek said it will take two to three weeks for test results to confirm that belief. Reed also had many pre-existing health conditions, according to Klimek.
Reed's body was found Wednesday morning at the intersection of Main St. and Deckner Ave. Authorities have said people who saw Reed tried to revive him, but it was too late. Police said he could have been there for several hours before he was found.
Reed's body was found without shoes on.
Reed apparently lived on E. Mason St. in Green Bay, Klimek said.
