GREEN BAY - A collection of winter coats is pushing the Salvation Army closer to its goal.
Forty-six new jackets were collected Friday morning from the Knights of Columbus.
The Salvation Army says the donation will allow just about every family to receive one new jacket during the Coats for Kids distribution on Saturday, Nov. 10.
This is the second year the Knights of Columbus helped out.
“One of the foundations of the Knights of Columbus is charity. And there is no greater way to show charity than to take care of children and the families they are in,” said Bob Reich, Grand Knight of Council 10243.
The Salvation Army says it still needs a couple hundred new coats to reach its goal of about 1,500. You can also still donate gently used ones. Click here for a complete list of drop off sites.
