GREEN BAY - Many people are starting to get into the holiday spirit. And on Tuesday, we caught crews hard at work bringing some of that holiday spirit to Lambeau Field.
Crews cut down the tree for the Packers' and Festival Foods' annual "Festival of Lights". The 45-foot tree was taken from the front yard of Robert and Jenny Spice of Ashwaubenon. The evergreen was only a foot tall when the couple first moved in, back in 1984. They say it is an honor to have their tree selected.
"Everybody knows we're 'Lambeau Fielders.' Rockefeller Center has a tree, but it's grown on a tree farm, usually, and the White House – it’s always grown for that. This is just in our yard and got picked. It's kind of cool," the Spices said
The tree will be decorated throughout the week, with more than 10,000 lights. It will then be lit during a ceremony Saturday night.
