ASHWAUBENON - If you are looking to travel to the Sunshine State from the Green Bay area there will soon be a non-stop option.
MetJet announced Wednesday a direct flight to Orlando from Austin Straubel International Airport.
The De Pere-based airline's first flights start May 25th. Besides Orlando, the airline also travels to Minneapolis.
"We're sure Orlando is going to be a success. But as we grow what we'll also do is recommit to bringing new cities to Green Bay," said Mike Heisman, MetJet CEO. "Dallas makes sense, Phoenix makes sense. Green Bay can definitely support those markets on their own."
Heisman says MetJet currently employs 20 people in De Pere and will add more jobs once the service starts.
