New Year's Eve activities in Green Bay area

GREEN BAY - The New Year's Eve celebration started a few hours early for Green Bay area families.

Whether you wanted to bounce around at the east side YMCA, take a dip in the pool at the Kroc Center, or hop on a horse drawn wagon, there was no shortage of fun New Year's Eve.

"We've always had excellent turn out at all our facilities," said YMCA youth development director Heidi Marquardt. "We just want the community to be able to participate in something that's family friendly and free for them and fun to enjoy."

U.S. Bank Eve, in partnership with the Greater Green Bay YMCA, has been a New Year's Eve tradition for more than 20 years now.

This year, you could take part in family friendly activities at several different locations in the Green Bay area.
Events took place at the east side, west side and downtown YMCA's.

There were also activities planned at the Boys and Girls Clubs, Neville Public Museum, the Kroc Center, St. Mary's Roller Rink and the Cornerstone Community Ice Center.

While most of the activities were geared toward the kids, by the end of the night, it seemed to be fun for "all" ages.

"My son and his wife and family live in Denmark so we came out here to the YMCA to enjoy the family night for New Year's Eve," said Julie Stroess of Appleton. "It's a good family affair, grandparents included."
