Packers great Willie Davis is now author Willie Davis. The Packers great signed his new book for fans in Ashwaubenon Saturday. "Closing the Gap," officially goes on sale October 1, but fans lining up at the Shopko store at the Bay Park Square Mall could get an early copy of the book signed by the five-time all pro defensive end. The book details Davis' life, particularly those days as a Green Bay Packer. "I remember to this day almost as if it was yesterday, (Vince Lombardi's) talk to the team one day when he said, 'Don't kid yourself. How you prepare and how you plan this game is a reflection of how you'll live the rest of your life," said Davis, sharing one of his memorable moments. "And that really resonated with me." Davis joined the Packers in 1960 and went on the be a part of all five of Vince Lombardi's NFL Championship teams in the 1960s.
